Tiger King star Jeff Johnson has died by suicide aged 58, according to reports.
The former reptile dealer, who made a brief appearance in the fourth episode of the first season of the Netflix show, died in September.
TMZ claims the incident took place following an argument with his wife on September 8.
The publication alleges Johnson’s spouse ‘called 911 for attempted suicide, and when officers arrived, they say he still had a pulse and was rushed to a hospital.’
A source added: ‘Unfortunately, Johnson was pronounced dead upon arrival.’
Jeff appeared briefly in Tiger King where he spoke about the infamous feud between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin.
‘Carole’s lawyers are vicious and they go after anybody involved,’ he told the camera. ‘So everybody that had been involved all got dragged into court.’
News of Johnson’s death follows that of fellow Tiger King star Erik Cowie, who also died in September.
The zookeeper, who featured in Netflix’s documentary, died September 3 aged 52 and TMZ reports his death is being treated as natural.
Cowie was found dead in a bedroom inside a Brooklyn apartment building. He was said to have been visiting a friend in New York at the time.
The warden was made famous for his appearances in the Netflix documentary Tiger King, which followed the trials and tribulations of Joe Exotic, real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage, and the mayhem of big cat parks in the United States.
The show returned last week with a second season and unpicks several wild newfound revelations from the likes of the major players from season one, including Exotic, Baskin, and Jeff Lowe.
