The 37-year-old celebrity, who became well-known in 2010 during the seventh season of the singing competition, injured her finger while chopping food by mistake.
She published a photo of her bandaged hand on Instagram Stories to inform her fans of the horrific tragedy.
She wrote: ‘Mandolin 1 – 0 Katie.
‘I swear mandolines, or me using one, should now officially be banned! Worst injury ever sustained.’
The culinary utensil is a gadget that is used to quickly slice vegetables with a single blade that frequently functions similarly to a grater.
As she works to transform the reality television business and retrains as a lawyer with an emphasis on welfare, human rights, and liberty within the creative industry sector, Katie has been more outspoken about her activist activities in recent months.

The three-year personal injury statute of limitations must be waived in order for Katie and her attorneys to pursue their lawsuit against Syco Entertainment.
