We could be sitting inside wishing winter would go away, but the newest round of participants on Love Island are already breaking out their swimsuits and trunks, giving us a glimpse of what the new winter season will be like in South Africa.
In the next ninth season of the show, a new cast of Islanders will compete for the chance to not only discover a connection with one another but also win the monetary prize of £50,000.
Now, the first look trailer for the 2023 season has been published, and it stars Maya Jama as the new host. The teaser promises that viewers will have a lot to look forward to.
ITV has dropped hints that it’s almost time to get immersed in another season of the show, which promises to feature a lot of highs and lows despite the fact that we do not yet know who the new competitors will be on the show.
Maya, who is now the host of the show after Laura Whitmore stepped down, is shown riding a velvet and jewelled bucking bronco in the promotional video, where she tells viewers, “It’s time to grasp love by the horns.” I am prepared, how about you?
ITV remarked on Twitter that it was “about to get hotter up in 2023” as they shared the trailer for the show.
Maya is donning the Celestial Jumpsuit from Clio Peppiatt, which is available for purchase but comes at a hefty price tag of £2,850.
Islanders will be relaxing in a luxurious villa known as Ludus Magnus once they arrive in South Africa and the cameras begin rolling. The villa, which is said to have a price tag of 1.2 million pounds and features an Olympic training pool, a 400-meter running track, a state-of-the-art rugby field, and a zip line, reportedly costs 1.2 million pounds.
The property, which is suitably called after Rome’s historic gladiator school, also includes access to a private lake that features its very own Love Island, beach, and palm trees. The property was named after the ancient gladiator school in Rome.
The fact that the second villa in Casa Amor will be just metres away from the main villa means that competitors will be able to hear any shenanigans that take place in the main home. This could result in an even more scandalous Casa Amor.
Overall, the spectacular estate features a total of 17 bedrooms and is situated on 25 acres in a wine valley close to the nation’s capital city of Cape Town.
Insiders claim that the network plans to spend £8,000 a day in order to have exclusive use of the eco-retreat.
Laura, an Irish TV presenter who is 37 years old and took over as host from Caroline Flack, who passed away, said in August that she would be stepping down once the most recent series had finished airing.
The previous season, which saw Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcülolu take home the top prize, amassed record-breaking viewing figures, becoming the most-watched series ever on ITV Hub, recording over 269 million streams. This season also broke the record for the most viewers for a single episode of a series.
During tonight’s broadcast of the James Bond movie No Time To Die on ITV, the complete trailer for the upcoming season of Love Island: Winter Edition will be screened.
Love Island returns this January on ITV2 and ITVX.
