Holly Willoughby won’t be appearing on This Morning this week – but she’s got a very good reason.
As Monday’s episode got underway, viewers were greeted by Phillip Schofield and The Saturdays star Rochelle Humes, and the duo revealed they’ll be at the helm this week while she fronts The Games.
Typically, Phil and Holly take charge of ITV’s daytime show Monday to Thursday, while Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary host Fridays.
Instead, Phil will be presenting alongside Rochelle for four days this week, while Holly is busy working on another big ITV project (more on that below).
‘Thank you for coming to play,’ he said to his co-star as they kick started the week.
Why isn’t Holly Willoughby on This Morning?
This week, ITV is airing new action-packed reality show The Games, which is running for five nights (starting Monday) at 9pm.
Holly will be fronting the programme, as Phil explained: ‘Welcome to your Monday morning! Rochelle is here all week because Holly is presenting ITV’s new show The Games
‘That’s live tonight and all week. We’ll be talking about that a little bit later on. Nine o’clock tonight she’s live from Crystal Palace in The Games, not taking part, actually hosting it beautifully.’
Rochelle joked: ‘I wish she was taking part too.’
Holly shared a picture of herself on Instagram with the Unity Allstars, and wrote: ‘Morning… going to miss my @thismorning family this week however I’ve had a change of career and become a Cheerleader… it was only a matter of time… @thegamestv @unity_allstars #thegame’
Fans are exciting to see what this week holds, with one commenting: ‘Can’t wait to see this live tonight!! (sic)’
Another added: ‘You make an amazing cheerleader’
When will Holly Willoughby be back on the show?
The Games is just running this week, so fans won’t have to wait long to see Holly back on This Morning.
She should be returning to the sofa alongside Phil as usual next week.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
