Those who tune in to watch Good Morning Britain on ITV1 during the day will need to be patient because the programme will not air today (Monday, January 2).
Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway, and Ben Shephard are the three regular hosts that appear on the breakfast television show, which begins airing at six in the morning and typically airs Monday through Friday.
On the other hand, as a result of today being a bank holiday, Good Morning Britain did not air as usual this morning. In its place, ITV1 broadcast episodes of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series, Mr. Magoo, Lloyd of the Flies, and The Rubbish World of Dave Spud.
Fans of the show are in luck because it is expected to return to its regularly scheduled airing on Tuesday, January 3; this means they won’t have to wait too long.
ITV1 has also removed Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women from its Bank Holiday programme. Instead, the channel will broadcast a variety of other shows, such as Britain’s Favourite Walks: Top 100 and the movie Death Becomes Her (1992).
Fans expressed their upset over the revised TV listings on social media.
‘If you ever needed further proof that Good Morning Britain isn’t a news show, they don’t work bank holidays, as if real news doesn’t happen today,’ one scathed.
Referring to BBC Breakfast, they continued: ‘The BBC has a news show every morning every day of the week.’
Another said: ‘News stopped again I see.’
Gordon Smart, the newest host of Good Morning Britain, made his debut alongside Charlotte Hawkins a week ago, at which time fans were given the opportunity to meet him for the first time.
During the two programmes that remained before the end of the year, the 42-year-old host filled in for the regular hosts, who were taking a much-needed rest.
The newcomer won over a tonne of supporters, who gushed over him and referred to him as a “breath of fresh air” and a “Scottish hunk.”
Good Morning Britain returns on Tuesday from 6am on ITV1.
