During The View, Whoopi Goldberg accused her co-host Joy Behar of ‘overshadowing’ her, just one day after the Sister Act star rushed off the stage in a furious argument.

But it wasn’t a heated disagreement that irritated Whoopi, 67. Instead, Joy was irritated by her phone ringing on the air.

Introducing Hot Topics, Whoopi began: ‘Yesterday, Ron DeSantis sat with Jake Tapper for his first big interview as a presidential candidate but was seemingly overshadowed.’

She then interrupted herself, looking over at Joy: ‘Did your phone really just ring?’

‘No it did not,’ the 80-year-old replied, before adding: ‘Ignore it’.

Whoopi then continued, but not without a little jibe.

‘Well, it’s hard, it’s hard,’ she said, according to Mail Online.

She said: ‘Kind of like I was just overshadowed by her phone, Ron DeSantis was overshadowed by You-Know-Who’s latest potential indictment.’

The performers were all left laughing at the incident, which wasn’t the first time a phone interrupted a segment.

This comes after Whoopi was embroiled in a heated dispute about Miranda Lambert, when the 39-year-old singer lashed out at her own fans for taking pictures during her show.

Her reaction been divisive, to say the least, and on Tuesday’s The View, Whoopi’s co-star Sunny Hostin, 54, said she was ‘going to take as many selfies as I want if I paid $757 for tickets. I’m sorry, just me!’

Whoopi was on Miranda’s side, however, and hit back: ‘You know what? Stay home. If you’re going to spend $750 to come to my concert, then give me the respect of watching me while I do my thing, or don’t come.’

Whoopi later walked off the stage to sit beside an audience member and said: ‘I want to take a picture with this marvellous woman, who is 91.’

‘So, we’re going to do a selfie. Just me and you. Will you push that button?’ she asked the startled fan, before the show cut to an ad break.

The View airs weekdays on ABC.
