Love Island has been heating up the summer, and fans have sorely missed it after the pandemic led to last year being cancelled.

It’s been a few weeks now, and everybody is starting to back their favourites, even the likes of Margot Robbie, who has declared her support for Liberty Poole.

Liberty has been in the villa since day one and has been coupled with Jake Cornish for just as long.

It is still early days in the competition, and while Liberty seems to be falling in love, Jake’s head may yet be turned by some new bombshells arriving at the villa.

Will she be left heartbroken, or will romance continue to grow between her and Jake?

You’ll have to tune in to find out, but in the meantime here’s everything we know about Liberty…

Who is Liberty Poole on Love Island?

Liberty, 21 is a student and waitress from Birmingham.

She’s currently studying for a three-year marketing degree at Birmingham City University.

Working in Nando’s, she’s had a few run-ins with romance – including being proposed to by a regular customer.

‘It was a bit unexpected!’ she said.

‘He got down on one knee and was like, ‘Will you marry me?’. But in his hand, it was a charity support badge not a diamond ring or nothing. So I was thinking, that’s one way of saying I’m a charity case when it comes to love! ‘

Liberty shared the announcement to her Instagram (@libertypoolex), alongside a snap of the famous Love Island water bottles.

She says she wants ‘the best summer ever because we have been in lockdown for a year so it would be nice to go away and enjoy the sun and make friends as well.’

Liberty says that she ‘can’t wait for the girly friendships’ as she’s a ‘girls’ girl’.

In the villa, she’s hoping to find a ‘tall alpha male’.

She says she’s had issues with ‘player types’ in the past, so is looking for ‘a nicer guy that is going to treat [her] right.’

‘I’ve never had that nice, happy relationship so I think it will be nice and something for me to experience,’ she added.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox
