Casa Amor may translate to ‘House of Love’, but the annual feature arguably provides the most drama and heartbreak in the entire Love Island series.
The alternative villa introduces plenty of new bombshells and endless amounts of temptation for the contestants.
Always sure to shake things up, producers split the girls and boys into two villas and tempt them away from their current romances with a whole new set of potential love interests.
So when could Casa Amor start in 2022? And will they also be in a new villa?
Here is everything we know so far.
When does Casa Amor usually start?
Love Island bosses have yet to confirm an exact Casa Amor date- but this nerve-inducing event typically happens around week four or five of the show.
That means this year we can expect to see the villa split happen either the week commencing July 4 or 11.
Last year, the feature was announced at the end of week four, starting in week five.
Casa Amor lasts for around three to four days, just long enough for heads to be turned and for the infamous postcard to be sent to the main villa.
Contestants are then asked whether they want to stick with their original partner, or couple up with one of the new singletons.
Casa Amor has been responsible for some of the biggest breakups in Love Island history including the temporary split of last year’s winners, Millie Court and Liam Reardon.
Could Casa Amor be in a new villa too?
As of yet, producers are yet to confirm any exact details on Casa Amor for the 2022 series.
This year, ITV brought a brand new villa for the main Love Island house, so fans are expecting the same for the Casa Amor residence.
However, producers uses a new villa for Casa Amor in 2021, so they may stick to that.
Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
