Get ready for the glitter and sequins; Strictly Come Dancing 2023 has begun – but when will the live events begin?
The entire group, which includes Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas, Irish presenter Angela Scanlon, former tennis player Annabel Croft, journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy, and others, was confirmed some time ago. The lineup, however, has now been partnered with their professional dancers.
The first (pre-recorded) programme aired on Saturday night, and it included a moving homage to the late comedy icon, Len Goodman.
The programme offers an excellent balance of drama, humour, and thrill that keeps fans interested and amused throughout the season.
However, now that the couples have been named and the first concert has occurred, when can we expect to see any jeopardy in the performances?
When do the live performances start, and when do the first couple go home?
Here’s what you should know.
When do the Strictly live shows start?
This year, there will be no gap between the opening and live performances, as the first live show is scheduled for next weekend – Saturday, September 23, 2023.
When will the first Strictly couple be eliminated?
The couples will receive their first scores on September 23rd, during the first live broadcast.
The first live event, however, will not feature any eliminations.
That will happen the next week, on Sunday, October 1, 2023, when the couples’ scores from weeks one and two will be merged before a public vote.
Bobby Brazier quickly became the bookies’ favourite to win the tournament, but there are still several weeks until the field is narrowed down to the final handful.
Bobby himself told radiotimes.com he thought the reason he was the early favourite was ‘just because I’m young.’
He went on to say: ‘They have no reason to think that. It’s just because I’m young and apparently quite fun.’
Who will ultimately lift the glitterball trophy?
We’ll have to wait and see.
