This year’s Love Island is hotting up with plenty of drama to keep viewers hooked.

There’s been some serious smooching between Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu and Davide Sanclimenti before she shared a kiss with new bombshell Jay Younger.

On top of this, we’ve seen Gemma Owen’s dashing ex striding into the villa and a bust-up between Gemma with her beau Luca Bish.

The show has even had two islanders quit – one before they even entered the Villa.

This year’s series marks the eighth season of Love Island, with couples from previous editions going on to tie the knot and even start families.

We’ve encountered some hilarious moments with Dami Hope ‘congratulating’ Davide and Ekin-Su on their first smooch after eyeing the ‘make-up swap’ on the Italian hunk’s face.

So, if you’re keen to watch the next instalment of the show, we’ve got everything you need to know.

Some regular Love Island episodes can also have extended running times due to recouplings, launch nights, final episodes and a variety of other special events.

How long could Love Island 2022 run for?

While the date for the Love Island final hasn’t been released yet, if past series are anything to go by, we’ll have our eyes glued to the screen for more than a month, at least.

While the dating show began with just 23 contestants appearing on the first series over the course of 41 days, the show’s length and cast count has risen since.

Series seven saw a whopping 37 islanders over the course of 58 days, while series six had 32 contestants and ran for 44 days.

Now, with series eight, who knows how many bombshells will be making appearances, and how long we’ll have to wait to see if the new King and Queen of the villa split the £50,000, or if one walks off with it all.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
