Vikings: Valhalla has history buffs and drama fans alike buzzing with excitement as they await the arrival of the series on Netflix.

The end of the original Vikings series left a bit of a hole that hasn’t yet been filled by other historical drama (although, pro tip: The Last Kingdom is a pretty good bufferfor Vikings fans).

Now however, Jeb Stuart’s take on the incredible story of the Viking race and some of their most ferocious warriors is finally about to be released.

Featuring action-packed scenes, awe-inspiring battles and some surprising tender moments, here’s everything you need to know about Vikings: Valhalla.

Vikings: Valhalla has a stellar cast of both prominent and up-and-coming actors.

The three main characters: Leif Eriksson, Freydis Eriksdotter and Harald Sigurdsson, are played by relative newcomers Sam Corlett, Frida Gustavsson and Leo Suter respectively.

Doctors and EastEnders star Bradley Freegard plays the brutal Viking King Canute, while Game Of Thrones’ Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson plays Olaf Haraldsson.

Swedish actor Caroline Henderson portrays the ruler of Kattegat Jarl Haakon, Laura Berlin stars as Emma of Normandy, and David Oakes plays Earl Godwin.
