Vicky Pattison will explore the effects alcohol had on her during her following her wild Geordie Shore years.

The 34-year-old reality star will address her drinking habits in the special, titled Vicky Pattison: My Dad, Alcohol and Me, and how she watched her 62-year-old dad John struggle with addiction as a youngster.

Vicky, who rose to fame on the risque MTV series from 2011 to 2014, told The Sun at the start of the year that she used to have ‘about 10 drinks a day’ and expressed how hard she worked to not ‘follow’ in her father’s footsteps.

Speaking about her latest project, Vicky explained that it was a story she’s been wanting to tell ‘for years,’ and she is ‘ready.’

‘As many people know by now, I have always been extremely honest about my life,’ Vicky said.

‘I’m hoping to find answers to some questions I’ve been asking for my entire life and I hope it will go on to help thousands of others too.’

She added: ‘It’s been wonderful working with Firecracker and Channel 4 on a project that is so close to my heart.’

Channel 4’s commissioning editor, Daniel Fromm praised Vicky and John’s bold move in sharing something so personal.

‘Vicky and her Dad are hugely courageous for making a film that shares such a private and complex family history,’ he said.

‘By allowing them to tell their story, we hope to help break the stigma around addiction and shed fresh light on how to spot when drinking becomes a problem.’

The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner also revealed she used alcohol to ‘quell’ her insecurities following her glorious win back in 2015.

Vicky said she had ‘imposter syndrome’ and feared her career in the limelight would ‘go away’.

‘To quell the insecurity I drank, it was a scary and dark time for me,’ she said to presenter Lorraine.

‘Everyone goes through certain things in life and it makes you.

‘I have dealt with my fair share of struggles but now I’m on my way to being a healthy and happy woman. And I want to help other people feel the same.’

Describing people who get ‘mortal drunk’ as ‘always sloppy or aggressive’, the TV personality described herself as ‘a gross amalgamation of all of those when I was drunk’.
