Vanessa Feltz said she didn’t want to do any more reality TV after finding love on Channel 4’s Celebs Go Dating.
For the previous three weeks, the 61-year-old TalkTV host has been dating a series of men chosen by the show’s experts.
However, many have reacted negatively to the star’s ‘rude attitude’ and ‘delusional superiority’ online.
Vanessa has been open about her romantic adventures after her breakup from her long-term lover and engagement Ben Ofoedu, 51.
She discussed her time on the reality programme and blasted the show for how they edited her moments.
The star told the Daily Mail: ‘I had no idea the editors were going to carve me up like that. I was always on my best behaviour for hours on end and then they always showed the bit where I’m looking so p****d off at the end.
‘If I hadn’t have been so sulky they wouldn’t have shown it. Dating is hard anyway but dating in front of thousands of people. I’ve learnt not to do any more reality TV.’
Her remarks came after viewers of the programme chastised her for what they saw as ‘rude’ behaviour on a series of dates that resulted in Vanessa declining a second meeting.
One penned on Twitter: ‘Vanessa feltz needs to get over herself on #celebsgodating, she doesn’t need a date, she needs a wake up call.’
Another said: ‘That Vanessa is honestly so rude man,’ while a separate account noted: ‘Vanessa is literally out here sucking the life out of this show. Why is she even still there, she’s made her mind up before she meets every guy #celebsgodating.’
Despite the scathing remarks, some good reaction to her presence on the series was posted on TikTok by fans, with a supporter commenting: ‘She’s not bad by any means.
‘She still needs time to process the previous break-up. She’s clearly still heartbroken. We’re with you hun.’
The actress accused the show’s agents, Paul Brunson and Anna Williams, of setting her up on dates that were too similar to her past relationship.
After yet another failed attempt at finding a connection, she exclaimed on the programme: ‘This is identical to the relationship I have just come out of.
‘So yes, I am absolutely closed off and there is nothing wrong with that.’
