Clelia Theodorou of The Only Way Is Essex has made significant progress in her recuperation following a horrific injury.

In May, the former reality TV star, 28, was involved in a terrible vehicle accident that killed her mother Gill and put her in a wheelchair with shattered legs and feet.

Clelia was pregnant at the time and thankfully received her baby girl Cielo, whom she affectionately refers to as CiCi, four months later.

She has now updated her Instagram followers on how she is surviving and expressed her excitement at having a’milestone moment.’

‘Finally able to stand up and take a few steps at home.. it’s very hard, it’s so painful but I have to push through it and it’s a big step (literally) forward🤞🏼,’ she began.

Clelia accompanied her health update with a mirror selfie in which she was using a zimmer frame for help.

‘I’m still waiting for my next operation to have the metalwork in my feet removed, when that is done I’ll be able to start physio & learn to walk properly again,’ she continued.

‘As difficult as it all is, I’m so pleased I’m able to do just a little bit more for Cici and at home 🖤.’

Clelia’s partner, Tom Cole, praised her for dealing with the problems.

‘My Big Princess 👸,’ he wrote.

‘Every day you’re doing more and more and Cici is the luckiest little girl to have you as her Mummy, she loves you so much x.’

Towie castmates also expressed their support for their former colleague in the comments section.

‘Amazing darling xxx,’ wrote Amy Childs.

Nicole Bass added: ‘Proud of you, you are a true inspiration & warrior! Love you lots ♥️.’

Her close friend Olivia Attwood described Clelia as the ‘strongest person I know.’

Clelia boldly blogged about the accident’s aftermath in July.

‘I am continuing to heal from my terrible injuries after weeks in hospital but it’s with the biggest regret to say that my beautiful Mum couldn’t heal from hers,’ the post read.

‘The person I never, ever wanted to say goodbye too. Who loved me unconditionally, the pure definition of a mother’s love.’

She added: ‘My heart will never heal from this, life will never ever be the same.

‘It just doesn’t feel real and it never will, I just want my mum back.’

The courageous celebrity has since undergone many operations and has characterised her rehabilitation as “long and slow.”

‘It’s a long, slow process but I’m getting there,’ she wrote in August.

‘I still have another surgery to get through and there have been hard some pushbacks, unforeseen delays, and a lot of pain along the way but the main thing is our little baby is battling through it with me, keeping me going each day, making me more determined and giving me so much strength, more than I ever I thought I would have in a situation as difficult as this.’
