Tommy Fury is smitten with his infant daughter Bambi, whom he shares with fiancée Molly-Mae Hague, although he previously stated that he ‘ideally’ wanted a son.
At Home With The Furys, a new Netflix docu-series, takes viewers behind the scenes of the Fury clan’s lives, featuring Tyson Fury, Paris Fury, and their bustling family of six (soon to be seven) children.
Tommy and Molly-Mae, both 24, who had Bambi in January this year, are shown telling Tyson, 35, and Paris, 33, that they’re expecting a baby as the former Love Island stars prepare to become first-time parents.
The PrettyLittleThing spokesperson sits down for a discussion with her boxer partner in the second episode of the show, since the series was taped before their engagement, to explore the next exciting phase of their life.
Speaking to the camera, Molly-Mae shared: ‘I feel so excited about becoming a mum. It’s gonna be a whole journey and I am a little bit nervous for it. He does try and hide it as well that he’s nervous, but I can read it all over his face that he’s terrified.’
Turning to Tommy on the sofa, she asked him: ‘Do you feel ready to become a dad?’
‘I feel ready. I feel like it was a next step for us,’ he replies.
Then, Molly-Mae dropped a huge question, asking her partner: ‘Do you feel like you would have been potentially a little happier if it had been a boy?’
‘Obviously, it would have been ideal to…’ Tommy began, as Molly-Mae interjected incredulously: ‘What?!’
Explaining his point of view in greater detail, the boxer continued: ‘To have a son to take to the boxing gym and hold the pads for him. He can hit my hands. But…’
His girlfriend chimed in to ask: ‘What’s not ideal about a girl?’
Backtracking slightly, Tommy responded: ‘There’s nothing not ideal about a girl. I’m just saying. Although, I wouldn’t push her into boxing, because getting punched in the face for a living…’
‘It’s not that fun, is it?’ Molly agreed, as her boyfriend added: ‘It’s not a very smart way to make a living.’
At one point, the former PLT creative director had to correct Tommy when he mistakenly referred to their kid as ‘him,’ before informing the cameras that he still has a lot to learn about being a father.
‘I think Tommy’s learning day by day more of what’s going to be required of him as a father. I think he’s a little bit naive potentially as to what things are going to be like and how much life’s going to change,’ she shared.
‘But I know he’s going to be the most incredible dad, and he’s going to be everything that we need him to be and more. So I’m just really excited to see that new side of him.’
At Home With The Furys is available to watch on Netflix.
