Tom Hardy is slated to return to CBeebies Bedtime Stories next month, with a new story to read.
Tom, the show’s most popular reader, has featured on five episodes since 2016.
His stories have been requested one million times on BBC iPlayer throughout the years.
Now he’s back, with a narrative commemorating the NHS’s 75th anniversary.
On July 5, the 75th anniversary of the National Health Service, he will read Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s Zog and the Flying Doctors.
He’ll narrate the tale of Princess Pearl, Sir Gadabout, and their trusty air ambulance, Zog the dragon, as they fly around tending to a sunburned mermaid, a worried unicorn, and a sneezy lion.
This is the first of six new CBeebies tales Tom has recorded.
They were shot in his yard, and he was accompanied by his gorgeous French bulldog, Blue.
Back in 2020, Tom made headlines when he said on the show that certain days he just needed a hug.
‘Hello. I’m Tom,’ he began.
‘Sometimes, on a day like this, I feel strong and happy. But on other days, I just need somebody to give me a hug.’
He then explained that the story he was about to read was about a small cactus named Felipe, who also needed a hug.
In recent weeks, England women’s cricketers Nat and Katherine Sciver-Brunt became the first LGBTQ+ pair to feature on the show.
They read Emily Coxhead’s uplifting story Find Your joyful during Pride Month, which follows a sloth who advises young readers what to do if they are facing tough emotions and the delight of being joyful.
They featured on the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground children’s programme.
David Tennant, Chris Evans, Dolly Parton, Harry Styles, and Kate Winslet have all read the book.
CBeebies Bedtime Story airs weekdays at 6.50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
