On Monday night, Adam Kodra became the latest member of the crew to be sacked from Below Deck Down Under.
The Bravo team has had a wild second season, with Captain Jason Chambers firing both Luke Jones and Laura Bileskalne for separate acts of sexual misconduct in a recent episode.
In the most recent episode, he was compelled to intervene once more after a deckhand unintentionally released the anchor while the boat was still sailing.
‘You’re clearly a decent bloke, you’re definitely good in the breach, but on deck I don’t think you have the expertise for super yachts, and that anchor being dropped underway is where I draw the line’, he informed the yachtie.
‘We’re going to let you go and we’re going to bring in a lead deckhand. I just need someone with a lot more experience.’
‘I apologize for even creating that for the time that I was here, but thank you so much for giving me the opportunity,’ he replied.
Adam was left devastated by his early departure, reflecting in a confessional: ‘I can’t believe it. I was learning a lot and I was having a lot of fun. It just sucks that it’s getting cut short. I completely messed up. You don’t have anyone to blame but yourself.
‘I never really did anything like this before. I knew it was going to be a big shock when I came into it. I learned an insane amount.
‘My next plan is to hopefully get up to captain in the commercial world, get my mom and kids in a house. And then, after that’s done, I’ll probably go back to yachting.’
Unpacking his decision, Captain Jason added to the camera: ‘Adam’s got a lot of potential, he’s a great guy. At the end of the day, there’s some safety issues there that I have to just go “enough is enough.”’
Viewers got a front-row seat to Adam accidentally dropping the anchor while the boat was still moving, which could have resulted in significant damage for everyone concerned.
His boss was left furious by the error, fuming: ‘I’m not getting what I want out of all the team. I don’t want mistakes.’
As boson Joao tried to defend Adam, he added: ‘I don’t need to be coming into the anchorage and I’ve got a deckhand that is dropping the anchor down. That channel is six meters deep…
‘We’re towing a tender, there was no pressure, no one is pushing anyone, there was good communication, and an anchor starts falling on the ground.

‘We’ve got a whole season to keep going with this. The next one could be damage to the boat, the next one could be someone’s finger. Let’s think about this wisely.
‘Something’s got to happen. Are we trying to make changes? No. Will we make changes? Yes.’
With his resignation, Adam became the third team member to be sacked since season two began; would there be more departures?
Below Deck Down Under airs on Bravo in the US on Mondays, and is available to stream on in the UK the same day.
