The spooky season is almost here, and we now have the perfect TV show to watch on fall nights – Goosebumps.
The resurrected R.L. Stine series has been taken up by Disney+, and the first half of the 10 episodes will be released on October 13th as part of the ‘Hallowstream’ celebrations.
Noughties youngsters who watched the previous series, read the books, or saw the film will enjoy the spooky memories, and the popular franchise will undoubtedly gain new admirers.
The mystery and intrigue that we’ve come to anticipate from Goosebumps will be present right away. We’ll meet a group of five high school kids who will embark on a’shadowy and twisted quest’ to learn more about the terrible death of a boy called Harold Biddle three decades ago.
They will uncover horrific truths from their parents’ past while conducting their inquiry. Intriguing!
The video, titled ‘Don’t blink,’ offers us a better idea of what’s to come, with the five high students seeming entranced by something in the distance before a series of terrifying images flash up, including a close-up of an eye, a person wearing a horrific mask, and a lady screaming.
Say Cheese and Die!, The Haunted Mask, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms!, and Night of the Living Dummy will serve as inspiration for the series.
A brilliant ensemble will bring the words to life, featuring Hollywood legend Justin Long and Rachael Harris, as well as young talent such as Eastenders’ Zack Morris, Star Trek: Picard’s Isa Briones, and Gossip Girl’s Ana Yi Puig.
Speaking ahead of the launch Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis said: ‘R.L. Stine’s ‘Goosebumps’ franchise is a pop culture phenomenon that holds a special place in the hearts of people of all ages.’
She continued: ‘We are delighted to bring this spooky new series to audiences everywhere in a big way on Disney+ and Hulu, which we hope will not only captivate new audiences with its elevated thrills and chills, but also lifelong fans nostalgic for the stories that are a staple of their generation.’
That’s not the only spooky TV programme on the way; a new episode of American Horror Story will air later this month.
Kim Kardashian surprised fans when she said she would be exercising her acting talents for the upcoming installment – but it appears she knew something the rest of us didn’t.
Following the publication of a first look trailer, people were ecstatic to learn that the Skims creator, 42, had a significant part in the forthcoming episode titled Delicate.
