The Witcher season 2 ‘resumes filming without Henry Cavill after injury’

Filming for The Witcher season 2 has resumed without Henry Cavill after he sustained an injury.

The actor, who plays leading man Geralt of Rivia in the hit Netflix show, was in training at Arborfield Studios in Berkshire when he suffered a minor leg muscle injury.

According to reports made by Deadline, Henry is expected to be sidelined for a short period of time, while his co-stars continue production.

The series is scheduled to go on a holiday hiatus later this month.

Henry had been strapped into a safety harness in a series of trees 20ft high off the ground when he ‘pulled up’ in agony, an insider told The Sun.

‘It wasn’t clear if an object had hit his leg or it was some sort of hamstring or muscle injury,’ they said.

‘It wasn’t bad enough to need an ambulance but it’s messed up the filming schedule as he can’t walk properly.

‘He has to wear heavy armour in the scenes and he just wouldn’t be able to do it with his leg injury.’

The Witcher season 2 had already been through the ringer thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

In March, Game Of Thrones’ Kristofer Hivju was diagnosed with coronavirus while filming.

As a result production was closed as the set went through a deep clean

Production moved to Surrey in November after lockdown in order to complete the season.

The Witcher is expected to return to Netflix in 2021 but an official release date hasn’t been announced.
