The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus has warned fans to be careful after his identity was stolen by someone trying to solicit money from fans.
The actor, who plays Daryl in the long-running apocalypse series, tweeted fans to be careful and revealed that the fraudster had also been falsifying his documents.
Taking it on the chin, Norman told fans to be careful and not to accept anyone pretending to be him.
He wrote: ‘Hey got word someone is using a fake passport and drivers license soliciting funds and such from people. That ain’t me. Don’t believe ‘em.’
Fans soon flocked to wish him well to share their own experiences of a faked celebrity trying to con them out of money, with one saying they were contacted and asked to ‘donate to a fund’ which was, presumably, non-existent.
Norman is currently due back on our screens in the early new year with new episodes of The Walking Dead, following the announcement the show will be ending after season 11 in 2022.
In its place, the actor will appear alongside Melissa McBride in a spin-off for Carol and Daryl, though the show’s plot remains unknown.
But there’s still a whole season and a half left to go, and on the show’s return on February 28, the team are going all out to make the episodes one to remember.
Among the teasers, we know an episode will be dedicated to Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his life before the hordes of Walkers with terminally-sick wife Lucille (played by his real life other half, Hilarie Burton).
The Walking Dead returns Sunday February 28 on AMC in the US, and February 29 on Fox in the UK.
