Cirie Fields, the Traitors US winner, has said that she has no regrets about her experience on the programme, despite being the only participant to make it all the way to the end and earn $250,000.
Cirie competed against a slew of citizens and celebrities, including Below Deck star Kate Chastain and Big Brother’s Rachel Reilly, in the gruelling tournament hosted by Alan Cumming.
Cirie was picked as a Traitor from the start and managed to persuade the Faithfuls that she was one of them, leaving Kyle Cooke, Christian De La Torre, and Arie Luyendyk Jr hanging.
Cirie betrayed Arie in the last moments, convincing Quentin Jiles and Andie Vanacore that he was a Traitor before swooping in and taking the reward money.
She eventually showed herself to be the greatest game player of all time and was proclaimed the winner, but she grieved Andie and Quentin and surprised the other players when they found out.
She, on the other hand, has no regrets.
Cirie revealed to Metro.co.uk that she had “no” regrets.
She told us: ‘I don’t, because I don’t feel like I did anything to anyone. So no, I have no regrets.’
‘I really didn’t have to do anything, I didn’t have to manipulate anybody, I just had to be myself,’ Cirie added.
When asked if she felt as though she hadn’t shown her real self during the game, Cirie replied: ‘I was myself the whole time doing the show, so there wasn’t any façade.’
‘I didn’t do any manipulating, I didn’t have to put on anything, the only lie that I had to maintain was that I was a Traitor,’ she continued.
‘I couldn’t tell them. That was the only thing. Outside of that, it was just me being myself and making friends.’
In other news, the 53-year-old disclosed her plans for the prize money.
She told us: ‘I have not spent it yet, but I plan on. We’re looking at a little house for my mum, she’s 82.
‘She’s on the third floor so I just want to get her down to a ground level, and just a little place she can go to the backyard with her dogs and chill out.’
Cirie revealed at an emotional reunion programme presented by Andy Cohen that if she had been awarded more money, such as $1,000,000, she would have considered sharing money with other participants.
‘With taxes, it’s $200,000, so who would I have stolen the money from?’ she said. ‘My mother, my children, my grandchildren?’
Cirie went on to say that if she had a ‘bigger sum,’ she would have ‘certainly contemplated’ dividing some of the money, particularly with Andie, with whom she built a close relationship during the process.
‘With this small amount it’s kind of difficult to do.’
