Former US runner-up on The Traitors, Quentin Jiles, has come clean about how he avoided talking to winner Cirie Fields after production wrapped up. They didn’t communicate again until she apologised and he saw the show.
Unlike the UK version, when 22 competitors were put through their paces by Claudia Winkleman, in Alan Cumming’s American The Traitors, a number of celebrities were mixed in with regular folks in a Scottish castle, which only served to increase the level of mistrust and paranoia already there.
After evicting Traitors Christian de la Torre and Big Brother star Cody Calafiore, Faithful Quentin, 32, and Andie Vanacore, 30, made it all the way to the finish.
Unfortunately for them, there was still one more Traitor hiding among them, and Survivor star Cirie ended up taking home the $250,000 prize.
And Quentin said he needed time to ‘process’ after the huge betrayal, so he didn’t really communicate with Cirie for a while.
I didn’t talk to Cirie after the concert because I was unhappy, he claimed in an exclusive interview with Metro.co.uk.
‘I think we talked maybe two weeks later, she apologised and then that was kind of it.
‘It took me a minute to get to my forgiveness, I had to go through my own process.’
The political analyst continued: ‘Yes it’s a game, but we are still humans and real people who really wanted the money right.
‘But I reached out to her when the show aired and I watched it all, and I was actually quite impressed.’
Watching Cirie’s secret conversations with the other Traitors seemed to change Quentin’s perspective.
‘How she pushed the other Traitors around when they were meeting,’ he said.
‘I was like, “You know what, respect”. It kind of made it like, okay, so I wasn’t the only one that was bamboozled’.
Quentin has said elsewhere that despite major arguments in the castle, he is still friends with several of the cast members.
‘It was hurtful, yeah it was still a game but that part was hurtful to me’. Quentin said, referring to the moment he realised Cirie had betrayed them.
