It’s time to dust off your cloaks, since The Traitors will apparently return to our screens in just a few weeks for Red Nose Day.

The hit BBC reality show is expected to be adapted into a Comic Relief spoof featuring Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, and the show’s host, Claudia Winkleman.

While the Line of Duty broadcaster has vowed to share more details about the annual charity event’s lineup in due time, they have already previewed some of what fans might anticipate.

For the first time in almost 20 years, Blackadder is slated to return for Red Nose Day, which will take place on Friday, March 17.

On BBC Radio 2, co-creator Richard Cutirs confirmed the epic return, revealing that ‘Baldrick will be performing some type of performance,’ as well as a’marvellous, turnip-based event’ with Tony Robinson.

In other news, the BBC is giving away some gems from its vault in a free Telly Treasures Giveaway to benefit Comic Relief, including some earrings worn by EastEnders’ Pat Butcher (Pam St Clement).

Meanwhile, AJ Odudu has hinted that a hidden Love Island sketch would be released on Red Nose Day.

She told BBC’s The One Show hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating: ‘I am one of the hosts along with Paddy McGuinness, David Tennant, Joel Dommett, Zoe Ball and you can indeed expect sketches with the most iconic cameos – one of which includes Kylie Minogue and there’s also a special Love Island sketch of which my lips are sealed right now.’

The allegation concerning The Traitors skit came after the BBC finally confirmed it will return for a second season, with Claudia returning as host of the Scottish Highlands-set programme.

The suspenseful show follows a group of participants who are labelled as either Loyal or Traitor but are ignorant of who is allocated to which side.

Throughout the performance, it is their mission to track down and expel the Traitors during huge round tables, while the Traitors’murder’ the Faithfuls hard on their trails.

If a small group of Faithfuls make it to the final, they will share the cash reward, but if there is a Traitor among them, they will steal the entire jackpot.

Faithfuls Aaron Evans, Meryl Williams, and Hannah Byczkowski won £120,000 in the show’s first UK season after discovering Wilfred Webster was a Traitor.

Red Nose Day 2023 airs on Friday, March 17, on BBC One.
