Strictly Come Dancing will return to our television screens in a few of months, and Angela Scanlon has allegedly agreed to perform on the show.
The former The One Show host is believed to be putting on her dance shoes for the forthcoming 21st series.
The crew behind the BBC programme supposedly believes the 39-year-old is ‘ideal’ for the role and expects her to go far.
‘It is hard to get the mix right for Strictly every year but producers think that Angela is perfect for it,’ a TV insider explained to Goss.ie.
‘Every year the producers like to have a glamourous yet wholesome TV presenter as the fans love them.’
It’s been rumoured that she’s been contacted before, but the timing wasn’t quite perfect.
Angela rose to prominence after presenting Robot Wars for the first time in 2016. She presently hosts the BBC show Your House Made Perfect, in which homeowners are shown designs by two different architects and must choose one for their home. She also has a similar concept for Your Garden Made Perfect, but for the big outdoors.
Her prior job as a member of the O’Shea Irish Dance Company might come in handy throughout the tournament.
The Irish actress currently resides in North London with her husband, Roy Horgan, and their two kids.
After contact the BBC have responded: ‘We don’t comment on speculation.’
Adam Thomas is also said to be appearing in the future series.
The Waterloo actor is no stranger to the show or its material, having previously joked that he wants to experience the curse.
The ‘Strictly curse’ refers to celebrities who become romantically involved with their professional dancing partners.
The Sun reported that he said: ‘Bring it all on. I love a bit of glitz and glam.
‘I just want to experience the Strictly curse.’
When Adam, 34, married his long-term girlfriend Caroline Daly in 2017, he was clearly kidding. Elsie-Rose, five, and Teddy, eight, are the couple’s children, and Teddy plays his son Tommy on Waterloo Road.
