The Masked Singer viewers have been hard at work trying to figure out who is under the Doughnuts costume – and now, it looks like they can cross Chris Moyles off their list…
The radio DJ has been linked with the singer after Rita Ora suggested it could be him on Saturday’s show.
Rita thought she was onto something during the VT, which hinted at a love of raving and spinning records.
Now, Chris has responded to the ‘rude’ comments and jokingly said he is ‘insulted’ by the rumours.
Speaking on his Radio X show on Monday, Chris said: ‘I’ve never been so insulted! I was in an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical!’
Chris was referring to his stint playing King Herod in stage musical Jesus Christ Superstar back in 2012, which he appeared in alongside the likes of Mel C and Tim Minchin.
Doughnuts made their debut in the opening episode of the show, with a cover of Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor.
On the second weekend, they gave one of the most memorable performances in the history of the series, with an incredibly energetic rendition of Spice Girls classic Spice Up Your Life.
Elsewhere, plenty of fans are convinced Doughnuts could be former professional footballer Michael Owen, with some saying his tone of voice is ‘unmistakable’.
The mystery singer proved a hit with the audience, while clues for the character included that they were ‘extra speedy’, have ‘never been the lazy sort’ and they ‘run ice rings around the competition.
The third celebrity was unmasked on The Masked Singer UK on Saturday, with Lionfish chosen by the judges to leave the competition.
Judges Rita, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross watched as five of the contestants returned to take to the stage for a second time. Lionfish was sent packing, taking off their mask to reveal Will Young underneath.
The Chris Moyles Show airs on Radio X weekdays from 6:30am – 10am and Saturdays 8am – 11am.
