A piece of classic 00s TV iconography is up for sale, with the car from The Inbetweeners going under the hammer at auction.

The famous yellow Fiat Cinquecento Hawaii featured in the hit comedy is being sold at East Bristol Auctions.

The model comes complete with one red door and explicit ‘honk if you want a b******’ bumper sticker, which was placed there by Jay (James Buckley) much to Simon’s (Joe Thomas) despair in the show’s third series.

As fans will remember, the car was given to Simon as an (unwanted) gift for passing his driving test.

The boys, Will (Simon Bird), Jay (James Buckley) and Blake (Neil), first took a trip in it to Thorpe Park in series one, and managed to pull one of the doors clean off in the process.

Then came the infamous ‘bus w*****’ incident during a trip to central London in the show’s second series, which led to Simon being grabbed by a stranger after Jay called out to a group of strangers at a bus stop.

The car goes under the hammer on May 28 at East Bristol Auctions during its specialist Entertainment Memorabilia Auction.

The guide price is between £2,000 and £3,000. See it at the auction house’s website.

Auctioneer Andrew Stow said: ‘It’s a really fun piece of memorabilia. It’s not the Batmobile, or the Ghostbusters’ Ecto 1, but for people who know the series – it may as well be!

‘When it arrived at our saleroom there was literally a queue of passers-by wanting their picture taken with it. It’s just so British. It’s an underdog, an unloved car – yet everyone wants a piece of it. Quite remarkable for a twenty-year-old yellow Fiat!’

Channel 4 sitcom The Inbetweeners first appeared on our screens in 2008, and spawned three series and two spin-off films, blessing viewers with some now-infamous quotes.

It comes after star Blake urged for people to stop screaming ‘bus w****r’, and regrets how successful some of the show’s most iconic phrases have become.

The Inbetweeners is available to watch on All4.
