The Games: Ryan Thomas wows fans with ripped body transformation after ’12 weeks of intense training’

Ryan Thomas is one of the celebrities participating in ITV’s latest sports show, The Games, and judging by his latest snap, he’s certainly been putting in the hours.

The 37-year-old soap star updated his Instagram followers on his fitness journey, ahead of tonight’s live show – which sees 12 competitors competing in several Olympic style challenges.

Alongside a photo of his toned physique, Ryan wrote: ‘The wait is finally over & what a journey it’s been 12 weeks of intense training learning 9 different athletic sports with some of the best coaches in the country.

‘With a massive thank you to my pt @michaelevansfitness preparing me mentally & physically for this challenge we worked so hard being dedicated to the routine, diet & determination.

‘Tune in live tonight 9pm every night this week on @itv 1 @thegamestv.’

Fellow co-stars and fans praised his inspiring transformation, with singer Max George writing: ‘Unbelievable work mate. So proud of ya. You’ve got this!’

While an impressed fan added: ‘Wow scrolled past and for a minute thought you were @markwahlberg.’

Although the actor is hyped to get going, Ryan recently expressed his fears over fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh going into labour during this week’s live show.

He said: ‘I know that it’s imminent and that it’ll be happening any time soon, and I know it will be during the show.

‘But I’m keeping my fingers crossed that that’s not the case and we can get the job done.’

Just in case Lucy goes into labour during his stint on the series, Ryan later quipped: ‘And we’re not far from here to get to the hospital, so that’s good.’

Freddie Flintoff and Holly Willoughby will be presenting The Games alongside Alex Scott who will also join as a pitch-side reporter, and Chris Kamara as commentator.

Mel B’s daughter Phoenix Brown, songwriter Chelcee Grimes and Harry Potter actor Josh Herdman are among the other celebs who’ve signed up for the challenge.

Elsewhere, fans will see former Strictly pro dancer Kevin Clifton, newsreader Lucrezia Millarin and Emmerdale actor Rebecca Sarker compete to win the new competitive series.

Completing the line-up isChristine McGuinness, Olivia Attwood, Wes Nelson, Max George and Corrie star Colson Smith.

The Games airs tonight at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
