ITV executives should think about whether they truly want to approach The Chase star Mark Labbett for I’m A Celebrity.
The TV quiz show host, dubbed “The Beast,” joked that if he became hungry in the jungle, he would eat his competitor campmates.
‘I make no bones about it… my father was a butcher, so I know basic butchery,’ he warned.
‘If somebody crosses me and it affects the food, I will have them up on a spit and roast them within five minutes.’
The 57-year-old predicted he would be the ‘campmate from hell’ because he is ruled by his stomach.
‘I get hangry, which is being angry because I’m hungry. And that is not good. I am a man who likes his food,’ he told the Daily Star.
Mark would also undoubtedly find it difficult to spend time apart from his current fiancée Hayley Palmer, 41, as their relationship blossoms.
The couple originally met at the National Television Awards in October of last year, and their first chat was over an exclusive Toby Carvery gold card, which seemed to have done the trock.
Meanwhile, ITV has yet to declare the line-up for I’m A Celebrity 2023, but speculation is rife.
It has been reported that This Morning’s Josie Gibson, Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall, and Denise Van Outen are planning to relocate to Australia.
Former Prime Minister Liz Truss is also reported to have been approached by ITV executives, following in the footsteps of her Tory colleague Matt Hancock, who signed up for the programme controversially last year.
Danny Cipriani, Katie Price and Kelly Brook’s ex, was reportedly revealed to be among the current round of campmates.
Last year, Lioness Jill Scott was named Queen of the Jungle, with runner-up Owen Warner coming in second.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV later this year.
