The Chase star Anne Hegerty has made it clear there aren’t any romantic sparks flying with her fellow co-star Mark Labbett.
The 62-year-old ITV quizzer, known as The Governess, stated she ‘does not do younger men’ after viewers noticed her appearing to check out The Beast, 55, in his trunks on The Chasers Road Trip.
‘Let’s not go there,’ Anne said. ‘I always say we’re not each other’s type and I don’t do younger men.’
Speaking about the scene, which aired in a recent episode, she continued: ‘I just looked over my shoulder at the sea and they cut in an image of Mark coming out.
‘Mark was not actually doing that at that time. Editors are wicked. Producers just like to do that sort of thing.’
Anne added to The Sun: ‘I laughed and then I rolled my eyes and thought, “For God sake, now everyone’s going to think I have a crush on Mark”.’
In August, Mark revealed that he and his wife Katie were splitting up after their open marriage didn’t work out.
At the time, the chaser said lockdown and their 27-year age gap contributed to him and Katie, 28, going their separate ways.
Mark shared that the pair were leaving their marriage on friendly terms and that there was ‘never any deceit on Katie’s part’.
The couple, who share a son, had also split in 2019 before getting back together for the sake of their family.
The Chasers Road Trip: Trains, Brains and Automobiles airs on Thursday at 9pm on ITV.
