TVThe Book of Boba Fett trailer: Bounty hunter and Fennec Shand come out all guns blazing in first look at Mandalorian spin-off November 2, 2021November 2, 2021 Share0 https://videos.metro.co.uk/video/met/2021/11/01/531635068641195971/640x360_MP4_531635068641195971.mp4 The first trailer for The Book of Boba Fett, a Mandalorian spin-off, has been released, showing Boba (Temuera Morrison) and his right hand woman Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) back in action on Tatooine after claiming the throne of Jabba the Hutt. In the second season of The Mandalorian, it was confirmed that Boba had survived his fall into the Sarlacc Pit that occurred in the original Star Wars film trilogy, after fans spent decades believing that the legendary bounty hunter had died. Temuera, who played Boba’s father Jango Fett in the prequel trilogy, made an explosive return after Boba’s presumed death, teaming up with Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) to help rescue Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, with assassin Fennec at his side. The post-credits scene for The Mandalorian saw Boba take the throne of Jabba the Hutt in Tatooine, who famously imprisoned Princess Leia before she killed him. In the first trailer for his eponymous series, The Book of Boba Fett, Boba is shown trying to forge alliances in Tatooine so that he can rule the desert land. However, his negotiations don’t appear to be smooth-sailing, as he attempts to work alongside some sketchy individuals. The moment Boba put his armour back on in The Mandalorian was iconic (Picture: Lucasfilm/Disney Plus) The first look opens with a shot of Tatooine, the land where Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker grew up. The teaser then transitions to a scene showing Boba putting on his green armour, as he says in a voiceover: ‘I am not a bounty hunter.’ ‘I’ve heard otherwise,’ someone else ominously says. Come on Boba – who are you kidding? Boba and Fennec are one imposing duo (Picture: Lucasfilm/Disney Plus) Despite his fearsome reputation, Boba stresses that while Jabba used to rule in fear, he intends to ‘rule with respect’. However, whether he’ll be allowed to rule at all is the question. The trailer teases some epic fights to come, as Boba and Fennec come out all guns blazing on their quest for power. Fennec was believed to be dead in season one of The Mandalorian (Picture: Lucasfilm/Disney Plus) At one point, they appear to be hosting a dinner as they try to sway former employees of Jabba to their side. ‘I’m here to make a proposal that’s mutually beneficial,’ Boba tells them. ‘Why speak of conflict when corporation can make us all rich?’ While some may be convinced by Boba’s intimidating demeanour, others may not be so willing to bend the knee, as one of them states: ‘What prevents us all from killing you and taking what we want?’ Well, Boba’s thirst for blood, for starters. We know that look (Picture: Lucasfilm/Disney Plus) In a scene filmed in Jabba’s palace, Fennec reprimands someone for speaking out of turn, telling them: ‘If you had spoken such insolence to Jabba, he’d have fed you to his menagerie.’ Nonetheless, Boba urges them to ‘speak freely’, possibly testing how far they’re willing to test his mercy. The trailer features a spin-chilling score that echoes that music that accompanied Boba in The Mandalorian. With a release date set for the end of the year, fans don’t have long to wait to witness Boba back in all his resurrected glory. The Book of Boba Fett premieres on December 29 on Disney Plus.
