The Bay viewers were blown away by the ‘powerful’ latest episode as they praised the actors’ performances.
The new season of the ITV crime drama follows DS Jenn Townsend (Marsha Thomason) as she supports the Rahman family in the wake of the murder of the middle son, Saif Rahman.
In the fourth episode, a funeral is held for the promising young boxer, as his mother Mariam Rahman and brothers Adnan and Jamal grieve their loss.
During the funeral, the siblings sit over their brother’s grave, adorning it with flowers after the funeral ceremony.
Speaking to one another, Adnan tells his younger brother ‘whatever happens, I love you.’
Adnan stresses how he ‘properly’ loves Jamal, although he might not always ‘show it’, causing his sibling to burst into tears.
Twitter users were blown away by the moving funeral scene for murdered Saif Rahman (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana).
One said: ‘#thebay hats off to all. masterpiece of an episode put together. So sad Beautifully written scenes with saifs funeral got emotional myself. cemetery scenes were perfect. The cleansing of the body step by step. Well done to all cast & crew. Thank you to all the team’

A third said: ‘Can we all just say a massive well done to #TheBay for showing a Muslim family funeral and now they say bye to their loved ones and also a massive well done to the cast and crew who act and have written so well !’
Many Twitter users were also quick to brand the episode and the performances as ‘powerful’.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk about the importance of deaf representation, Nadeem said he was ‘proud’ to ‘play a part in history.’
He added: ‘We make up a large portion of the population of the UK. So for The Bay, I’m so proud to be part of that history, especially in a police drama environment.
‘These types of storylines happen to many Deaf people too – it’s time to be realistic. Hopefully the decision by The Bay, and particularly the Casting Director Kelly Valentine Hendry, to cast a Deaf actor will encourage this industry to change for the better.’
The Bay returns next Wednesday at 9pm on ITV and is available to watch on ITV Hub.
