After weeks of competing in Lord Alan Sugar’s boardroom, the finals of The Apprentice 2024 have been announced.

Phil Turner and Rachel Woolford defeated 16 other competitors and will now compete for a £250,000 investment and mentorship from the billionaire.

Throughout the season, Karren Brady and Tim Campbell have put Phil and Rachel through many obstacles, but only one can earn the opportunity of a lifetime.

Phil, who had a difficult time on The Apprentice, said he was’really pleased’ of himself for making it to the final.

Alluding to being on the losing side nine times consecutively, he added: ‘It’s not been the easiest journey but I’ve held my head high and kept going each week.

‘Now I’m ready to give it one more shot to show that Lord Sugar was right to see something in me and that I can be his next business partner.’

Rachel said she was similarly stunned to reach the final: ‘I can’t quite believe that I’ve made it to this point.’

She continued: ‘This has been such a competitive series with incredible candidates that I’m in absolute awe of.

‘To make it to the final is a dream and I’m just so excited now to showcase my business that I’ve poured my heart and soul into.’

Earlier today, Phil and Rachel joined The Apprentice semi-finalists Tre Lowe, Flo Edwards, and Paul Midha on This Morning.

Presenter Alison Hammond, 49, even referenced Phil’s losing streak, asking him: ‘Have you enjoyed your experience because you have had a lot of losses, haven’t you?’

In response, Phil quipped: ‘Did you have to mention that, Alison?’

Despite making it to the final two, Phil narrowly avoided being fired since Lord Sugar had earlier informed him that if he lost again, he would lose his job.

Outlining his aims in an interview with the Radio Times, Phil said: ‘When I came into the process, my goal was to try and make it to the final five.

‘I think after the journey I’ve had and so many losses, I feel as if I’ve probably had the toughest route to the final five that maybe any candidate has ever had. I feel really proud of myself.’§

Last year, Marnie Swindells, who operates an inclusive, emotion-focused boxing club, won the top prize on The Apprentice.

The Apprentice continues on Thursday at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
