In 2009, we were introduced to young women from all around the United States who were expecting their first children.
We witnessed them bring their children into the world in 16 and Pregnant, then follow their parenthood journey on MTV’s Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2, and now the show’s stars are teens themselves.
Catelynn Baltierra and Leah Messer are in their 30s and have been mothers for nearly half their lives.
If you were a regular watcher of the reality show, you may need a moment to process that information.
Now that you’ve paused, let’s look at the mothers with their grown-up sons and daughters.
Catelynn Baltierra and Carly
‘Had an amazing visit with our girl ❤️ she’s funny, kind, SMART, goofy and STUNNING 😍 Adoption is hard and saying goodbye time and time again is soooo hard!!!! But seeing all of our girls together, getting to know Carly deeper and deeper each time and being with all four of our daughters is truly such a blessing!!!!,’ she wrote.
Tyler added: ‘The feeling I have when I’m with all of my beautiful girls is truly indescribable. The amount of pure organic love is overwhelming, almost to the point of being unbearable at times. She’s so smart. She’s so kind. She’s so goofy & her laughing face is imprinting & infectious. Her parents have done such an amazing job raising her!’
Leah Messer, Aliannah and Aleeah
Leah fell pregnant unexpectedly with her new partner Corey, and they soon discovered they were carrying twins.
Leah gave birth at the age of 17, married at the age of 18, and divorced within six months. Ali was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, and we witnessed the young parents visiting many hospital visits together in order to receive medical treatment.
Leah, who also has Adalynn with ex-husband Jeremy Calvert, is now 31 years old, and the adorable twin daughters are 13!
Leah’s mother and grandmother were all adolescent mothers, and she hopes that the next generation of Messer women will end the cycle.
‘I love them no matter what their journey may be, but I do want more for them and I always will,’ she told Teen Vogue.
She shared her life experience in the book Hope, Grace, and Faith, including how she overcame drug addiction and sadness. On Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, you can see what she’s up to now.
Maci Bookout and Bentley
Maci is 31 years old, and Bentley is 14 – he’s not even a teenager yet!
She is now a mother of three, having two children with husband Taylor McKinney, Jayde and Maverick.

Janelle Evans and Jace
Jace, aged 13, is officially back in Janelle’s custody after years of being cared for by Janelle’s mother, Barbra.
‘#MyHappyEnding , ITS OFFICIAL! Thanks everyone for the support! Words can’t descibe how happy I truly am. Our family is complete now! Thank you mom,’ she wrote alongside the video of her signing official papers.
In a recent article, she stated that the small child is ‘nearly taller than me,’ which is perplexing!
Janelle, who now identifies herself as an influencer, is married to Eason David and has two additional children.
Chelsea DoBoer and Aubree
Chelsea, 31, started her family with Aubree, now 13, whose father is Chelsea’s ex-partner Adam Lind.

Aubree met her husband Cole DeBoer when she was a child. They married and had three more children, making them a very active family.
Cole and Chelsea now co-host a separate show, Down Home Fab, in which they assist other families in renovating their houses.
Aubree adds the former beautician is also the co-owner of homeware named after her adored firstborn.
