Susanna Reid apologised to her fans after revealing that she will not be hosting Good Morning Britain again on Monday while she recovers from sickness.
She shared the message on social media, releasing a short clip of herself in a T-shirt with glasses perched on her head on Sunday night on Instagram Stories.
‘Quick update on my voice, which as you can hear is not 100%. I feel absolutely fine but the specialist that I saw on Friday said not to risk it until it is better,’ the 52-year-old presenter shared.
‘Thank you to everyone at GMB for stepping in and to all of you for your brilliant tips – I’ve been steaming and also doing ginger and lemon and honey and turmeric tea and drinking tons and tons of water.’
‘I will see you soon,’ she added.
Across the clip she wrote: ‘Sorry I won’t be with you in the morning. Vocal chords [sic] affected by mild infection (not C), that I didn’t even realise I had!
Sorry not to be back @gmb with you all in the morning. Vocal cords still affected. Recovering with specialist treatment and brilliant tips from viewers. See you very soon! Sx pic.twitter.com/Jfm4VZR23o

‘Need to rest them a little longer.’
Susanna also posted a similar message on X, formerly known as Twitter, tweeting: ‘Sorry not to be back @gmb with you all in the morning.
‘Vocal cords still affected. Recovering with specialist treatment and brilliant tips from viewers. See you very soon! Sx.’
‘Hope you’re okay,’ Channel 5 presenter Dan Walker said. ‘I’ll see you shortly.’
Susanna’s followers hurried to wish her a swift recovery, with many sending their well wishes.
‘Get well soon!’ several people replied, while GMB contributor Dcn Calvin Robinson wrote: ‘Praying you have a speedy recovery.’
On Monday, Ranvir Singh and Ed Balls headlined the morning programme.
Susanna’s unforeseen time off occurred when she was forced to withdraw from hosting GMB last Wednesday at the last minute due to losing her voice at the NTAs.
The broadcaster had arrived at the GMB studios but chose at the last minute not to appear, instead speaking from her dressing room, explaining that she didn’t want to ‘inflict’ her voice on viewers for three hours.
She was supposed to come on This Morning to discuss her new haircut, but she had to cancel due to the same reason.
Susanna claimed that she had gone to the NTAs on Tuesday evening, but that her croaky voice was a mystery because she was the first person to leave and does not drink or smoke.
The show’s presenters chatted briefly to Charlotte Hawkins, 48, from her dressing room as she presented her ‘unscheduled’ visit on the show, standing in for Susanna.
‘It’s funny because it was the NTAs last night and when I got in my cab to leave the driver said, “You’re the very first person to leave the NTAs. You’re obviously not partying,”’ she recalled.
‘And of course, I don’t drink, I don’t smoke. So there’s absolutely no reason I can understand. But I’ve completely lost my voice.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1.
