Suits may have finished more than four years ago, but because to its new home, it’s presently one of the most popular series in the USA.
After Netflix bought the rights, the courtroom drama had a renaissance, and viewers can’t get enough of it.
It was added to Netflix in the US on June 17 and was watched for 3.1 billion minutes the following week. The outstanding sum sets a record for an acquired title on the Neilsen Streaming Chart.
Gene Klein, the show’s executive producer, said that a relaunch may result from its unexpected second life.
‘You know, I’ve mentioned to Aaron [Korsh, creator/showrunner] that I keep, in this era of reboots and reunions and all this other stuff, that I’m expecting a call at some point. But I’m not aware of any serious conversations,’ he explained.
‘It’s just one of those things where, in this day and age, you wouldn’t be surprised if somebody called you someday. But so far, nothing that I’m aware of.’
Meghan Markle, the duchess of Sussex, portrays Rachel Zane, one of the main protagonists. You probably already know that the actor’s life was significantly altered when she fell in love with Prince Harry and finally wed him in 2018.
If there is a relaunch, Gene isn’t very optimistic that she will be able to take on her part.
‘I would assume that’s just not possible,’ he concluded to TVLine.
In addition, he was realistic about the challenges that would arise if they made an effort to rejoin the other members of the ensemble group, which also featured Gabriel Macht as Harvey Spectre and Patrick J. Adams as Michael Ross.
‘As you might remember, it was a complicated dance keeping everybody involved, getting all the actors deals done and keeping them involved through the end of the show.’
He continued: ‘I’d be surprised if we could thread that needle for a reunion, but I’d also be delighted if that happened because [when] you do a show for that long, everybody becomes such a good friend.’
The programme had nine seasons, which it aired from 2012 to 2019. In order for Meghan, 41, to concentrate on her new royal responsibilities, she was written off the show in the eighth season.
Suits is available to stream on Netflix.
