Succession adds full-time regulars to next season – but what does this mean for the Roys?

Succession season 3 is getting bigger – with three faces becoming boosted to series regulars for the latest trouble within the Roy family.

As the battle for Waystar continues and Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Logan (Brian Cox)’s relationship takes a dramatic turn, there are three faces of the team there ready to join in and pick a side.

The season is due to start filming in early 2021.

Justine Lupe, David Rasche and Fisher Stevens, who have all previously appeared on the show, will now become even more vital to the plot.

But what does this mean for the Roys…?

David Rashce’s character Karl is a chief financial officer and legal team member at Waystar Royco, and with Kendall’s huge announcement at the end of season two, it seems there’ll be a lot of scrambling left for him to fo.

Justine will continue as Connor Roy’s girlfriend Willa, though with the bump from a ‘recurring character’ to a regular full-time role means she’s about to get more invested in the goings on of the Roy family – or at least cause a little more chaos for Connor (Alan Ruck).

But the most interesting new addition comes in Fisher, who plays Hugo Baker, an up-until-now inconsequential employee of the company.

All three have appeared on the show before but never in a major role, but with the bump up, it seems that they’re about to become entangled in the fight for power within the Roy family.

Season two ended with Kendall effectively declaring war on his father Logan, ratting him and his shady dealings out in a very public press conference.

The move came as Logan and the family opted to throw Kendall under the bus as a ‘blood sacrifice’ for the company, which would result on him going to prison for the mishandling of the company.

Now we have to wait to see what political and financial alliances can be made to save him.

Succession airs on HBO in the US and is available on NOW TV in the UK.
