Zara McDermott of Strictly Come Dancing has apparently set herself the goal of being the BBC show’s most coveted participant ever.
The 26-year-old has already made history as the only Love Island star to leave the island for the dance floor – and it’s been alleged that her aspirations don’t stop there.
A source said the Made In Chelsea star was aware she ‘is the glam girl in this year’s cast’ and is ‘up for the challenge of being the show’s sexiest star yet.’
They stated she instructed the wardrobe crew and sought bold and daring costumes to assist her meet her goal.
The insider continued to The Sun: ‘Zara is absolutely stunning and puts in the work at the gym so she’s rightly proud of her body.
‘Plus she’s young, fun and into fashion so she’s told the team she’s up for anything they throw at her – the shorter and skimpier the better, really.’
Zara rose to prominence on the smash dating programme Love Island in 2018, and she has since participated on the singing competition The X Factor: Celebrity and the reality series Made In Chelsea, which she co-hosted with her boyfriend Sam Thompson.
She has since filmed films for the BBC about revenge porn, sexual assault, and disordered eating, drawing on her own experiences.
Zara’s latest BBC Three documentary series aims to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the death of Gaia Pope-Sutherland, 19, who ran away from home in 2017 during a mental health crisis after reporting she had been drugged and sexually assaulted by a man when she was 16.
Zara debuted the channel’s new dating series Love In The Flesh in 2022, which features couples who have only ever met online meeting for the first time.
She described Strictly as a “far cry” from her day work and believes the dance competition will be the most challenging she has ever faced.
Paralympic champion Jody Cundy and former British number one tennis player Annabel Croft also appear on Strictly, as do BBC Asian Network Breakfast Show host Nikita Kanda, actress Amanda Abbington, Bad Education actor Layton Williams, and broadcaster Angela Rippon.
Journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy, comedian Eddie Kadi, Irish TV presenter Angela Scanlon, comedian Les Dennis, former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach, EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier, former EastEnders star Nigel Harman, and Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas will be joining them.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
