Zara McDermott has responded to a remark about her dancing abilities on Strictly Come Dancing after surviving the dance-off.
One Strictly fan questioned the 26-year-old’s Charleston movements when it was revealed she’d be dancing the genre to Jeepers Creepers by Al Donahue and his Orchestra for the Halloween special.
A brief footage of Zara doing some of the routines under the supervision of her professional partner Graziano Di Prima was posted on the BBC series’ official Instagram.
One person embraced their inner Craig Revel Horwood and commented: ‘Oh, Zara. I love watching you. But you’ll have to have more swivel than that.
‘I hope that was long before the 1st show and you’ve got better since.’
They didn’t go full Craig, but they did provide some inspiration ahead of Saturday night’s concert.
‘Come on, you’ve got this!’ they added.
Zara discovered the insult among the 274 comments and decided to answer with a fact to silence it.
‘This was filmed before we even started training for week 1! X’
Zara has pledged to mend her ways after finishing in the bottom two on Strictly twice.
To stay in the tournament, the couple defeated Nikita Kanda and Gorka Marquez in week two, and Eddie Kadi and partner Karen Hauer on Sunday.
She has now promised to ‘focus on controlling those jitters’ so that they do not end themselves in the dreadful dance-off again.
Sam Thompson, Zara’s boyfriend, has also promised to do more to help her and boost her chances of winning the challenge.
Sam, 31, stated on his Hits UK radio programme that it is tough when the results do not go in Zara’s favour.
‘Zara was in the dance-off again! It’s happening all too often and it’s very hard to take as a boyfriend because she comes back all deflated and she’s worked so hard,’ he shared.
‘I’ve got to be honest with you though I could have done a bit more!’
Sam has already used his 1.8 million Instagram followers to persuade people to vote for Zara.
‘I was a bit distracted by the rugby, by the World Cup and I didn’t go as big with my usual efforts on Instagram but I’m going to come back stronger this week though!
‘We’re not going to go down without a fight baby,’ he insisted.
