Strictly Come Dancing’s Tilly Ramsay has spoken out about her dad Gordon Ramsay’s tearful reaction to her routine earlier in the series.

The television chef was seen sobbing in the audience as he watched his daughter perform a Charleston in her second week, to which she’s claimed that him crying was totally out of character.

‘I still can’t believe he cried, he’s so not that kind of guy!’ Tilly said of her dad, who turns 55 today.

‘The whole family are so supportive and hopefully proud of me.

‘Without their support really none of this would be possible,’ she added to What To Watch.

Gordon and Tilly both celebrate their birthdays today (November 8), with the no-nonsense celebrity sharing a sweet tribute to his daughter.

‘I can’t think of a better person to share my birthday with than this adorable gracious young lady @tillyramsay always putting others first before herself and you’ve grown up to become an amazing role model,’ he penned.

‘Happy Birthday darling can’t wait to see you very soon love you so much Dad .’

Tilly and her partner Nikita Kuzmin danced a chess-inspired tango to Kings & Queens by Ava Max on Saturday night, receiving 31 points from the judges.

Shirley Ballas said: ‘I would still like to see more flow while you’re in frame,’ but added that it was ‘generally on a good improvement’.

Anton Du Beke added: ‘You’ve developed into a really nice dancer, but your position is not quite right.’

Craig Revel Horwood said the dance ‘stopped and started too much’, but praised the drama and the concept.

Tilly and Nikita found themselves in the dreaded dance-off but the judges chose to save them from elimination, with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty voted off instead.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.45pm on BBC One.
