Former Strictly Come Dancing star Kaye Adams shared a pretty uncomfortable encounter she had with a hotel waitress hours after being eliminated.

The Loose Women presenter, 59, and professional partner Kai Widdrington, 27, found themselves in the first dreaded dance-off against singer Matt Goss, 54, and Nadiya Bychkova, 33.

Kaye and Kai performed their Charleston to Music! Music! Music! by Dorothy Provine, while Matt and dance partner Nadiya then performed their Samba to Night Fever by the Bee Gees.

However, Sunday marked the end of Kaye’s Strictly journey after judges Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood voted to keep the Bros star in the competition for another week.

Hours after yesterday’s results show aired, the ITV host hilariously shared the moment she addressed her exit from the show while she was in her hotel room.

‘Just ordered room service in my hotel,’ she tweeted.

‘The nice lady who brought it asked me ‘any idea who went out of @bbcstrictly tonight.?’ I said ‘me’. awkward silence.’

Fellow celebrities and fans reacted to the encounter, with presenter and 2021 Strictly star Dan Walker writing: ‘Major League awkwardness. We enjoyed watching you Kaye. I hope you made some good friends and have some lovely memories.’

Comedian Jenny Eclair added: ‘Was gigging, watched your Charleston on catch up after show last night and thought it was fabulous, legs, lady, you have legs to die for, ridiculously tough competition this year, you did yourself proud x’

Speaking about the show results, Kaye told Strictly host Tess Daly: ‘I did make mistakes, and when it comes to that high pressured situation that’s what happens.

‘So I am delighted for Matt and Nadiya, the only person I am just sorry for is this wonderful man [Kai], who has just been so brilliant.

‘It was a hell of a lot of fun, I said my ambition was to learn to love to dance, and actually I have seen a whole new side to myself, it’s opened a little door.’

Dance partner Kai added: ‘Well, you know, only we know how much real hard work has gone into this.

‘There has been lots of ups and downs and we won’t go into them, but this lady is a trooper, and I know what she’s been going through in the week.

‘For this woman to come out and give the performance that she did tonight really shows the testament to her character.

‘I am proud of you, I know that your girls and your other half are proud of you, but the most important thing is that you should be proud of yourself, because you are a superstar.’

The pressure is on for the remaining celebrities, as they return to the dancefloor to compete in Movie Week.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6:30pm on BBC One.
