Dianne Buswell has teased a possible return to Australia’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing, after feeling ‘inspired’ by Oti Mabuse’s judging stint on Dancing on Ice.
The 32-year-old professional joined the annual BBC series in 2018, which saw her and current boyfriend Joe Sugg, waltzing their way to the final.
Before Strictly, Dianne was a professional dancer on Australia’s Dancing with The Stars, and after witnessing the likes of Anton Du Beke and Oti stepping into judging roles, Dianne hopes to follow in their footsteps Down Under.
Speaking to MailOnline, she said: ‘I think let’s start with Australia, let’s start with baby steps and then one day the UK version.’
Dianne’s former Strictly co-star Oti, 31, confirmed her departure from the popular programme in February after seven years and two consecutive wins.
The ballroom and Latin pro hailed Oti’s career move as inspirational as the star is also fronting ITV’s latest dating show Romeo & Duet.
‘She’s a real inspiration,’ Dianne added.
‘And I would obviously love to venture out and do different things as well.’
Fans can look forward to seeing Dianne on Strictly this year, as she was confirmed in the professional line-up for series 20 – alongside Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Giovanni Pernice, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Luba Mushtuk, and Nancy Xu.
And viewers will also be introduced to newbies Cameron Lombard and Jowita Przystal – who both made their debut in 2021.
However, Anton’s name was noticeably missing from the line-up, which led fans to believe that he will be back on the podium for another year.
While Anton is yet to confirm his return, his co-star Craig Revel Horwood beat him to the punch and reportedly confirmed his return.
‘I think last year he did a great job on Strictly as a judge. And we have just found out he is going to do it again this year,’ he told The Sun.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
