Strictly Come Dancing star Jamie Laing has joked about his professional dancing partner Karen Hauer, saying she’s been sneaking into his room at night during filming.

The pair are quarantining together during their time on the show, and the Made in Chelsea star has revealed Karen has been whispering instructions into his ear while he sleeps to help him remember his steps.

Speaking to the Sun, Jamie said the pair are stepping up their training ahead of the weekend, and spoke about Karen’s unusual tactics.

Talking about learning steps, Jamie said: ‘It’s like learning a new language and it’s really scary and intimidating and it’s worrying and all these different things. Slowly what happens is that your coach, your awesome professional partner, somehow gets it to sink in.’

Jamie joked: ‘I honestly think Karen crawls into my room at night and she whispers into my ear what the steps have to be. Somehow it goes into your mind because you wake up one day and go, ‘Oh my God, that’s what this is, that’s what that is’.

He added: ‘Honestly, Karen comes to me in my room at night. Last night I woke up and Karen was in my room.’

Jamie added: ‘I’m like, ‘Karen what are you doing here?’ And she said, ‘Sorry, I was whispering into your ear’. I tell her, ‘Alright, but listen, we’ve got a show to do and I need sleep, alright?, You get back to your room’.’

Jamie, who is dating Made In Chelsea co-star Sophie Habbo, is quarantining with Karen during his time on the show due to coronavirus restrictions.

Jamie originally signed up for the show in 2019, but was forced to pull out after injuring his foot. Now, he’s back on the show for a second shot at the title.

It’s been a rocky start for Jamie and Karen, after the pair ended up in the bottom two last week. He’ll be hoping for a better result when he takes to the floor again this weekend.

Strictly looks different than ever before this series, with no live audience and five dancers set to take part in the final.

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday at 7.25pm on BBC One.
