Nancy Xu, a Strictly Come Dancing pro, caused anxiety among spectators when it looked like her neck was bleeding.
The dancer, 32, and TV personality Les Dennis, 69, made their Strictly 2023 debut with a Tango on Saturday night.
Nancy was bleeding from her left ear as they stood there listening to the judges’ criticism.
She was afterwards observed tending to the wound with what seemed to be tissue.
Nancy remained a genuine professional, putting on a brave face despite the fact that they were at the bottom of the standings.
Despite her refusal to comment on the rumoured injuries, Nancy tweeted a photo of herself and Les in action from Saturday night.
She penned: ‘That’s week one done. Hope we did bring a bit of smile on your face.’
Expressing their concern, one fan shared on X , formerly known as Twitter: ‘What happened to Nancy? Looks like her neck is bleeding.’
Another added: ‘Nancy is bleeding! Poor Nancy!’
A third added: ‘Hope your neck is okay after it was bleeding.’

Strictly’s first live concert was full of shocks, with Bobby Brazier bringing his father to tears.
As soon as his act was completed, the cameras went to Jeff, 44, who was crying.
The 44-year-old TV host was overcome with emotion and pride as he applauded for his eldest kid, whom he shares with late Big Brother star Jade Goody.
During the routine, iconic TV anchor Angela Rippon ripped up the dancefloor, shocking spectators with an astonishing high kick.
Amy Dowden made a surprise cameo during the first live broadcast of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday, leaving viewers in tears.
Unfortunately, the Welsh professional dancer, 33, will not be performing in Strictly this year due to breast cancer. She is getting chemotherapy right now.
Amy, on the other hand, has remained upbeat about her future on the dancefloor, and fans were given reason to cheer when she appeared unexpectedly in the new opening titles.
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday, September 30 at 6.15pm on BBC One.
