Strictly Come Dancing 2022 star Kaye Adams warned about ‘getting sweaty down there’ during training by Ruth Langsford

Kaye Adams has revealed the very candid advice Ruth Langsford gave her about competing on Strictly Come Dancing, with her Loose Women co-star offering ‘warts and all’ guidance.

Last week, the TV presenter was confirmed as one of the celebrities starring in the line-up for the 2022 series, joining fellow contestants including singer Fleur East, EastEnders actor James Bye and England footballing legend Tony Adams.

‘I said I wanted to make the last year of my fifties memorable and I can’t think of a better way of doing it than showing the world my two left feet. Pray for me!’ she said in a statement.

On Friday’s Loose Women, Kaye shed further light on how she’s feeling about the experience, with Katie Piper – who took part in the show in 2018 – explaining that it’s ‘just like a family’ behind the scenes.

Kaye then revealed she had a ‘long chat’ with Ruth on the phone on Sunday while she was walking her dog, dubbing her ITV co-star – who competed on Strictly five years ago – ‘brilliant’.

‘She told me warts and all, but in a really supportive way, which was nice. But she did make me laugh. She was like, “Now, you will get very sweaty down there when you’re training, very sweaty,”’ she revealed, as the rest of the Loose Women panel burst into laughter.

Continuing, Kaye outlined how Ruth added: ‘“So what I had was a little lady’s bag, with a couple of panty liners.” Little tips there, just to keep you going! So I’m going to get a little lady’s bag prepared.’

The latest Loose Women panelist to compete on Strictly was Judi Love in 2021, who rocked the dancefloor while partnered with Graziano Di Prima.

Kaye expressed her wish that she could bottle ‘a tiny bit of her energy’ for the show, admitting that she ‘envies’ Judi’s ability to just ‘own it’.

‘When I see people who just embrace it that way, I admire it so much. I’ve never found that easy all my life. I’m on a show called Loose Women and I’m very un-loose,’ she said.

Lady Leshurr, who was on Dancing On Ice in 2021, told Kaye that she believes being on Strictly will be ‘an experience’.

While Strictly fans are yet to find out who Kaye will be partnered up with, they do know that the other celebrities currently announced in the line-up include Countryfile presenter Hamza Yassin, singer Matt Goss, Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds and Ted Lasso star Ellie Taylor.

The other competitors will include Britain’s Got Talent star Molly Rainford, comedian Jayde Adams, actress Kym Marsh, Kiss FM presenter Tyler West, actor Will Mellor and TV and radio presenter Richie Anderson.

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pn on ITV.
