Strictly Come Dancing 2020: Stars perform in drag for spectacular Musicals Week teaser

Strictly Come Dancing is preparing for Musicals Week tonight, and a new teaser has been released showing stars of the show performing in drag.

The professional dancers are taking part in a spectacular group dance this week and if the new clip is anything to go by, it’s going to be one to remember.

The teaser sees the pros take to the floor with rainbow-coloured fans, with the routine seemingly inspired by the drag ball culture and fashion of New York City.

The Strictly ‘exclusive’ is coming to screens tonight, soundtracked by a version of CeCe Peniston’s Finally.

Strictly Come Dancing posted the clip on social media, adding the caption: ‘Musicals Week can’t get any more fabulous! Pros: Hold my fan.’

Saturday’s show will see remaining celebrities perform new dances to classic songs from musicals, looking to progress into next weekend’s semi final.

It comes after Clara Amfo became the fifth celebrity to be eliminated from the competition last week, after finding herself in the bottom two with Jamie Laing.

When asked by Tess Daly about her time on the show, Clara said: ‘I’ve had the best time ever, the best time ever and got a new friend for life. I’ve loved it, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done, it has been a dream come true.’

It’s also been a difficult few weeks for Maisie Smith, who revealed she froze in panic during her most recent performance with professional partner Gorka Marquez.

Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing is also planning on reintroducing a live audience next weekend following the easing of lockdown restrictions.

Strictly Come Dancing continues at 7.25pm this evening on BBC One.
