Janette Manrara has shared a throwback video of HRVY’s first day of rehearsals on Strictly Come Dancing ahead of Saturday’s final… and boy have they come a long way.
On Saturday evening, professional dancer Janette will compete in her first ever Strictly final, having been a part of the show since 2013.
She and HRVY will perform a Showdance, in addition to repeating their Jive to Faith by Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande and their American Smooth to One (Singular Sensation) from A Chorus Line.
With just a couple of days to go until the season finale, Janette, 37, shared a video on Instagram from her and HRVY’s first ever day of rehearsals, when they began working on their Jive routine.
In the video, HRVY, 21, says: ‘We are both fiery messes right now,’ adding that his hair is looking ‘all over the place’, as Janette laughs beside him.
‘We just finished day one of training and my body is in proper shock actually,’ the musician states.
However, he adds that cooling down has ‘changed his life’, something which Janette encouraged him to do.
‘Normally after I’ve done a rehearsal of anything, I’m actually limping out,’ he says.
‘Now after that session, and you were really stretching me, I feel like I could go again for another eight hours.’
In the video, Janette adds that she and HRVY ‘learnt so much’ during their very first day of training.
‘Not done, not the full routine. I think I probably threw every single Jive step in the world at you,’ she states, to which HRVY responds: ‘I love the challenge.’
In the caption for her Instagram post, Janette paid homage to the ‘journey’ she and HRVY have been on.
‘This was day 1 of rehearsals…. and now today, our last day….. what a journey,’ the professional dancer wrote.
In a recent social media post, Janette expressed how much she’s going to ‘miss’ HRVY when the show is over.
‘Going to miss him so much when it’s all said and done….. He really has become a little diamond in my heart forever,’ she said.
The Strictly Come Dancing final airs on Saturday at 6pm on BBC One.
