Strictly Come Dancing 2020: Jamie Laing reveals he was ‘scared’ to perform in dance-off against JJ Chalmers

Jamie Laing has revealed that he was ‘scared’ to perform again in the dance-off against JJ Chalmers.

The Made in Chelsea star and his dance partner Karen Hauer landed in the bottom two on Sunday night against JJ and Amy Dowden.

In the dance-off, JJ and Amy performed their Charleston to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, while Jamie and Karen performed a Jive to Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

However, in the end, the judges decided to save Jamie and Karen – putting them through to this week’s semi-final.

The reality star and his dance partner appeared on Wednesday’s It Takes Two where they spoke to host Zoe Ball about Sunday’s elimination.

‘We did the performance and I was really nervous, I was really nervous for it,’ Jamie began.

‘I don’t know why, I think maybe the quarter-finals, this stage of the competition and you know, not messing up because she’s (Karen) pretty scary.’

‘As if she could be scary,’ Zoe chipped in. ‘I know what you mean, you put loads of effort into it and you’ve done the dance-off and it’s all playing in your mind.’

‘Everything is playing in your mind the entire time and it was a really tiring dance and I was more scared to do it again because it was really tiring,’ Jamie added.

‘I just wanted to go home.’

With only two weeks left of Strictly, will Jamie and Karen have what it takes to take home the Glitterball trophy?

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 7.15pm on BBC One and It Takes Two airs daily at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
