Strictly Come Dancing 2020 draws to a close with its finale on Saturday, December 19 – where one winning couple will claim the coveted Glitterball Trophy.
From navigating the risks associated with the so-called ‘Strictly curse’ to enduring weeks upon weeks of gruelling rehearsals, those in the Strictly line-up have a lot on their plates during their time on the show.
Soon, their efforts will culminate in the all-important final – but there can be only one winning duo.
As we wait for the final dances to begin, here’s a reminder of what prizes are at stake…
What does the winner of Strictly Come Dancing get?
First and foremost, the couple that wins Strictly Come Dancing gets to take home the Glitterball Trophy.
When it comes to money, each celebrity is paid a cool £25,000 for signing up to the show.
If they make it to the end of October, that gets bumped up to £40,000.
Contestants who survive the competition long enough to get to the quarter-finals then get their fee increased to £60,000, and if they reach the semi-finals that number is bumped up again to £75,000.
The winner will then reportedly get a whopping £100,000 paycheque for their time on the show.
On top of these fees, any participants in the Strictly tour will be able to use their time in the line-up to bring home even more proverbial bacon.
Meanwhile, according to the Daily Mail, the professional dancers reportedly get paid a £50,000 flat-fee per series.
Who is in the Strictly Come Dancing 2020 final?
Four couples will battle it out for the Glitterball Trophy and the reported extra £25,000 on Saturday:
Comedian Bill Bailey, with Oti Mabuse
Singer HRVY, with Janette Manrara
EastEnders actor Maisie Smith, with Gorka Marquez
Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing, with Karen Hauer
Bill, HRVY and Maisie sailed through from the semi-final, though Jamie Laing had to beat Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh in the dance-off to earn his spot in the final four.
Ranvir narrowly missed out on a place in the finale, though is set to step in for Lorraine Kelly on her morning talk show next week.
The Strictly finale airs on BBC One at 6pm on Saturday, December 19.
