Steve Martin has unintentionally disclosed the release date for the third season of Only Murders In The Building.
Fans have been waiting for the return of the blockbuster Disney+ mystery comedy, with Hollywood royalty Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd joining an already all-star cast.
Steve, who plays real crime podcast trio Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora opposite Martin Short and Selena Gomez, has stated that we don’t have much longer to wait.
During his and Martin’s You Won’t Believe What They Look Like Today! tour stop in Orlando, Florida, he surprised the audience with the surprise announcement.
‘Catch the new season August 8,’ he said according to Variety.
Martin joked: ‘Our show is like Steve trying to pee — it streams for 33 minutes.’
No element of the pair’s live presentation may be recorded by audience members.
Cara Delevingne, Sting, Amy Schumer, and Amy Ryan have all appeared in recurring and guest parts in the series.
Meryl Streep has joined the cast of the show’s third season, as indicated in a teaser video published earlier this year, and production for the forthcoming run has concluded.

Selena confirmed the announcement last month on Instagram, calling season three as ‘deliriously hilarious and tough’ with a shot of them on set.
She wrote: ‘I’m not sure I have enough words to explain just how beautiful this season has been. It has been deliriously hilarious and challenging.’
Selena continued: ‘For me, [season 3 has been] an absolute dream. I’ll post more soon. But I’ll leave it with the woman I adore, look up to, and love.’
Season 2’s closing scene introduced viewers to new character Ben Glen (Rudd), but it didn’t last long as Ben died on stage.
However, series co-creator John Hoffman has stated that Ben will continue to play an important role in future episodes.
He told Variety: ‘Paul Rudd, after making an auspicious entrance into the world of our show at the end of Season 2 as Ben Glenroy, is someone we clearly want to know more about and see in our upcoming Season 3 — as he is a clear source of many upcoming questions and, as ever with our show, many twists yet to come!’
Only Murders In The Building is available to stream on Disney+. The new season will be available August 8.
