Almost five months after the second season of The Mandalorian concluded, sci-fi fans have been treated to a brand new action-packed release to mark Star Wars Day on May 4: Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

The animated series premiered on Disney Plus and follows a group of clones who – as their name suggests – are far more wilfully-minded than clones in the Star Wars universe are designed to be.

So what is The Bad Batch about, who is joining Mandalorian star Ming-Na Wen in the cast and how many episodes are there?

What is Star Wars: The Bad Batch about?

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set straight after the events of the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the animated series that came to an end in 2020.

The Bad Batch are faced with a tricky situation at the beginning of their eponymous series, as they must figure out how to survive amid the rise of the evil Galactic Empire following the demise of the Republic.

While it may be useful to have watched The Clone Wars before starting the Bad Batch, it’s not necessarily essential.

Who is in the cast of Star Wars: The Bad Batch?

Considering The Bad Batch are a group of clones, it would make sense for one actor to voice each of the troopers in the unit.

Dee Bradley Baker, who has previously lent his vocal talents to TV shows including Avatar: The Last Airbender, SpongeBob SquarePants and Phineas and Ferb, plays all of the clone troopers in the animation.
